Happy Birthday Bob!

Bob Jones (the older one) celebrates his 90th birthday today.   Happy Birthday Bob!

Bob set up the King’s Gambit (Brandon) Chess Club back in 1986.   At its zenith the Club fielded five teams in the Bury Area Chess League.   Several Americans from the nearby bases played for the Club, including Darius Pour (165) and Robert Keough (170).

The Club continues to meet for social chess on Wednesday evenings in the Brandon Remembrance Sports & Social Clubroom, but no longer competes in the League.
