EACU Closed Chess Championships 2024-25

The EACU Closed Chess Championships 2024-25 will take place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th January 2025, at the King Edward VII Memorial Hall in Newmarket.

This is a five-round Swiss, in three sections: Open, u1950, u1650. Being a closed event, is is a condition of entry that players have one of the relevant ties to the area:

Only EACU players are eligible to play in any section of this congress. An EACU player is one who (i) currently lives in, or (ii) has for a consecutive 5 year period lived in, or (iii) is currently a student at a school, college or university in, or (iv) was born in, or (v) is currently a member of a club in or affiliated to, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk or Suffolk.
